About The Position

Grand Lake Health System is seeking an IT Technician to investigate, analyze, and resolve hardware and associated software and communications problems on hospital computer systems. This role involves performing complex hardware repairs and maintenance on a wide range of PC-based computers and peripherals. The IT Technician will provide advanced hardware technical assistance and support, troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software, and communications failures and conflicts. Additionally, the position requires evaluating existing computer systems hardware, performing system upgrades, customizing and testing computer systems based on customer needs, and resolving configuration conflicts and errors. The IT Technician will also be responsible for installing, integrating, and configuring new computer systems and hardware for users, researching and recommending appropriate computer hardware, reviewing and prioritizing problem reports, documenting project progress, and training end users and employees as needed. Miscellaneous job-related duties will also be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate with the “end” user to assist in training and problem solving as well as be able to communicate on a technical level with software and hardware vendors.
  • Be able to maintain a pleasant attitude and have an excellent rapport with the users.
  • Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
  • High school diploma
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Must have training in various Microsoft operating systems and personal computing products.
  • 3-5 years experience in computer system comparable to current installed system.
