About The Position

GovCIO is hiring an IT Technical Manager to serve as a technical lead for an enterprise management team, SQL and Oracle DBA team, SharePoint team, and COTS administration team. The position is based in Fairfax, Virginia, and is hybrid. The role leads teams supporting critical federal systems, provides technical direction and management, and includes hands-on support of Enterprise SQL databases. An active Secret clearance is required, along with the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.

Requirements

• High school education and 10 or more years of overall systems experience in Windows OS, SCCM/MECM, SCOM, SQL database administration, COTS applications, and SharePoint administration, or commensurate experience.
• Eight to ten years of leadership experience managing system administrators and engineers.
• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder communication skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making capability.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation for compliance and operations.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management tools such as ACAS, Tenable, Nessus, or Qualys.
• Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ServiceNow ticketing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage system administrators and engineers supporting critical federal systems.
• Assign and prioritize tasks in alignment with mission requirements and SLAs.
• Provide technical direction, mentorship, and performance management.
• Ensure high availability and resilience of mission-critical systems.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Perform hands-on support of Enterprise SQL databases.
