IT System Manager
About The Position
Turing is seeking candidates with experience in information systems management, project leadership, and enterprise technology strategy. In this role, you will contribute to projects that evaluate and enhance AI systems by applying IT leadership and systems management expertise. Prior AI experience is not required. The projects explore how AI can advance digital transformation, automation, and data-driven decision-making across enterprise technology environments. Day-to-day work includes designing and solving IT operations and systems management scenarios to test AI reasoning; writing structured solutions related to IT governance, system integration, cybersecurity, and project delivery; evaluating AI responses for accuracy, professionalism, and technical soundness; and collaborating with researchers to refine AI understanding of technology lifecycle management, strategic planning, and enterprise infrastructure. This is a freelance contractor assignment that may be full-time, with projects lasting approximately one month and possible extension. Work is fully remote. Compensation varies by project. Turing is based in San Francisco, California, and describes itself as a research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a partner to global enterprises deploying advanced AI systems.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as an IT Manager, Systems Administrator, or Technology Project Manager.
- Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of IT project management, software delivery, and security protocols.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and enterprise software systems.
- Excellent English communication and documentation skills.
