About The Position

The IT System Administrator for Alloy Surfaces Company, Inc. (ASC) is responsible for hands-on technical support for end users, systems, and escalated issues for both onsite and remote users. This role combines hands-on Tier 2/3 helpdesk support with system administrator responsibilities for supporting endpoints, basic networking, and infrastructure. The role requires a self-starter who can delivering high-quality onsite support, resolve complex issues in a timely manner, and coordinate with a Managed IT Services Partner to ensure seamless IT operations. Additionally, the role will serve as the internal technical resource for situations requiring organizational familiarity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Helpdesk Tier 2/3, System Administrator, or similar IT role
  • Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance commensurate with the level of facility clearance
  • Effective listening, and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work effectively
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to follow established procedures while contributing to ongoing process improvements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) certifications preferred
  • Occasional after-hours support may be required depending on organizational needs
  • Experience with Intune Autopilot preferred
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles such as least privilege, separation of duties, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and attack surface reduction
  • Familiarity with information technology or cybersecurity frameworks and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Provide in person support for walk ups, onsite troubleshooting, and user assistance needs
  • Action escalated tickets requiring hands-on intervention or deeper organizational context
  • Support device lifecycle tasks such as imaging, hardware setup, workstation refreshes, and physical inventory
  • Deploy and support onsite desk equipment and shared resources
  • Resolve software, configuration, and access issues
  • Perform hardware diagnostics, repairs, replacements, and coordinate warranty/vendor service when needed
  • Support networking components including switch port checks, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and physical connectivity issues
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability remediation, and security awareness efforts
  • Assist with IT projects requiring onsite presence, technical validation, or coordination with third party providers
  • Contribute to and maintain clear up-to-date IT documentation
  • Utilize PowerShell for automation of tasks
  • Support new hire onboarding by deploying IT equipment, configuring user accounts and system access, and providing technical support during onboarding
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, software licensing, and related documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and established IT procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Code of Conduct, U.S. Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and the Chemring Operational Framework
  • Promote a high standard of ethical behavior and adherence to the Group’s core values, and to promote a culture of honesty and integrity across ASC
  • Comply with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Special projects and additional duties as assigned
