About The Position

The Senior IT System Administrator is responsible for the stability, security, and day-to-day operation of the bank’s IT infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with hands-on operational work, including routine system administration tasks, while independently handling complex issues and supporting infrastructure improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with: Windows and Linux server administration, Virtualization (VMware / Hyper‑V), Networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and/or AWS.
  • Solid understanding of security principles and IT compliance frameworks (ISO, HIPAA, GDPR – preferred).
  • Comfortable performing both routine operational tasks and advanced troubleshooting independently.
  • English required; Portuguese and/or Spanish preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing similar duties in similar highly regulated industries is preferred.

  • AWS Certification
  • CompTIA Security+ and/or Network+
  • CCNA or ITIL Foundation

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on administration of Windows and Linux servers in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud resources (compute, storage, networking).
  • Monitor systems, networks, and cloud platforms to ensure availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network, and security incidents, including routine operational issues.
  • Implement and maintain security controls (MFA, firewalls, endpoint protection, patching).
  • Administer identity and access management (Active Directory, IAM, GPOs, DNS, DHCP).
  • Manage backups, replication, and disaster recovery tasks, including regular validation.
  • Support LAN/WAN, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes following established procedures.
  • Automate operational and maintenance tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
  • Document configurations, procedures, and operational changes.
  • Participate in infrastructure and security projects.
  • Stay current with cybersecurity threats and infrastructure best practices.
  • On-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
  • Occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance or incidents.
