IT Support Technician Intern (Year-Round)
About The Position
Gain hands-on experience providing technical support by setting up new computers, configuring handheld scanners and printers, and resolving employee technology issues through our ticketing system. This is a year-round internship program structured for part-time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer. Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business with a will to grow, and this internship offers the chance to become part of our family. Our businesses include Charter Steel, Charter Casting, Charter Wire, and Niles Iron & Metal.
Requirements
- Enrollment in a two-year or four-year degree program in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to succeed in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-user IT support, including software installation and hardware set-up and delivery within our ticketing system.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
- Document and improve processes.
