About The Position

Valeo is a global tech company focused on reinventing mobility with breakthrough solutions. As a Purchasing Intern, you will contribute to strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and cost optimization within the automotive sector. This role is for a student available year-round, initially part-time during the school year and transitioning to full-time during the summer.

Requirements

• Currently a student enrolled in courses working toward a Business Degree or related field.
• Available to start as soon as possible.
• Available to work year-round on a part-time basis throughout the school year pending class schedule, then full-time throughout the summer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the selection, qualification, and evaluation of suppliers for various commodities and services.
• Support the negotiation of contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure competitive advantage and cost efficiency.
• Prepare and analyze RFQs (Request for Quotation) and RFPs (Request for Proposal).
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (R&D, Quality, Production, Logistics) to define purchasing needs and optimize supply chain processes.
• Maintain and update purchasing databases and systems with accurate supplier and pricing information.
• Participate in cost reduction projects and value analysis initiatives.
• Support the implementation of purchasing strategies and policies.
• Generate reports and provide analysis on purchasing activities, market trends, and supplier performance.
