About The Position

Backhaul Direct is looking for a motivated IT Support & Systems Specialist to help run and maintain our day-to-day IT environment. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys solving problems, learning new systems, and taking on real ownership. You’ll support our internal team, keep core systems running smoothly, and gradually take on more responsibility as you grow. You’ll also work alongside our Tech Ops team and external vendors to ensure our technology supports the business rather than slow it down. Requirements

  • 1–4 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or similar role
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a “figure it out” mindset
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Basic understanding of systems administration (accounts, devices, email platforms)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, or similar tools
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented approach

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support (hardware, software, user access, connectivity)
  • Set up new hires (accounts, permissions, equipment) and manage offboarding
  • Maintain core systems like email, phone systems, and user accounts
  • Assist with basic server room oversight and coordinate with vendors as needed
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly and keep employees productive
  • Track IT assets and maintain system documentation
  • Learn how different teams use technology and support their needs
  • Assist with system improvements and integrations over time
