IT Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team in San Diego, CA. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical resolution and support to end users for computer hardware, mobile devices, and tablets. You should have a broad knowledge of IT software and hardware issues and be able to diagnose and solve these problems. Additionally, you will troubleshoot various platforms including Mac, Linux, smartphones, tablets, and network equipment.

• Provide customer service and technical support to end users for computer hardware, mobile devices, and tablets
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT software/hardware related issues for Mac, Linux, smartphones, tablets, and network equipment
• Conduct day-to-day operational maintenance of internal IT infrastructure
• Participate in patch level and compliance efforts using Jamf Pro
• Configure, install, customize, maintain, test, and troubleshoot software/hardware systems
• Coordinate and manage moderate size technical projects such as OS upgrades and migrations
• Troubleshoot PIV and authentication issues
• Document and monitor processes and procedures for operational compliance
• Assist with internal initiatives and budgeting of software/hardware systems
• Assist with implementing disaster recovery, backup procedures, and information security measures

• Experienced IT Support Specialist
• Knowledge of computer hardware support, mobile devices, and tablets
• Broad knowledge of IT software/hardware related issues
• Ability to diagnose and solve IT issues
• Troubleshooting experience with Mac, Linux, smartphones, tablets, and network equipment
• Customer service skills
• Operational maintenance of internal IT infrastructure
• Experience with Jamf Pro for patch levels and compliance
• Configuration, installation, customization, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of software/hardware systems
• Project management skills for OS upgrades, dual factor authentication, and EoL migrations
• Troubleshooting PIV and authentication issues
• Documentation and monitoring of processes and procedures
• Budgeting and review of software package requests
• Implementation of disaster recovery and backup procedures
• Knowledge of information security and control structures

• Customer facing technical resolution for computer hardware support, mobile devices, and tablets
• Broad knowledge of IT software/hardware related issues
• Ability to diagnose and solve IT issues
• Troubleshooting multiple platforms including Mac, Linux, smartphones, tablets, and in-office network equipment
• Day to day operational maintenance of all internal IT infrastructure
• Participation in efforts to develop, push, troubleshoot, and report on patch levels and compliance using Jamf Pro
• Configuration, installation, customization, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of software/hardware systems
• Coordination and management of moderate size technical projects

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of macOS directory structure and various alternate macOS boot modes
• Experience with macOS package management systems MacPorts and Homebrew
• Familiarity with CIS, NIST, FISMA or other standards and benchmarking
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Highly motivated, flexible, self-directed, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently in a dynamic environment
