About The Position

RRD is seeking a motivated student for a summer internship providing end-user computing support to a decentralized user community. This is an onsite position. The intern will help configure, install, and deploy endpoint hardware and software for refresh initiatives; assist with upgrading the endpoint fleet from Windows 10 to Windows 11; maintain asset records in the corporate ITSM toolset; and provide technical support for hardware, software, network, application, configuration, and peripheral issues. Work follows documented procedures and corporate policies, including software installation and licensing policies. The role may also include other related duties and special projects as assigned. The hourly rate is $24.00. Employment offers are contingent on successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screens.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree at an accredited college or university in a discipline related to the work described.
• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to convey messages clearly in language others can understand.
• Be able to adapt communication style, formal or informal, to the audience.
• Have functional computer knowledge, including use of Microsoft Windows, Mac, or other technical tools.
• Possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, preferably Windows 10 and 11, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Have strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to accuracy and detail, and the ability to multitask across projects.
• Be able to work positively in a geographically dispersed team environment and demonstrate strong customer service skills.
• Have basic knowledge of network infrastructure, including switches, hubs, and patch cabling.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience troubleshooting software installations.
• Familiarity with Google tools, including Gmail, Docs, Sites, and Groups.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure endpoints according to documented processes for existing refresh initiatives.
• Participate in the migration of the existing endpoint fleet from Windows 10 to Windows 11 as directed.
• Provide end-user support within areas of responsibility, following documented processes, procedures, and corporate policies.
• Maintain accurate asset records, including additions, changes, and deletions, in accordance with asset management protocols using the corporate ITSM toolset, ServiceNow.
• Distribute software and application installations in accordance with software installation policies and licensing requirements.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, internet, network, application, configuration, and peripheral equipment issues assigned through the corporate ITSM toolset; update and close tickets promptly.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
