About The Position

The York Region Children’s Aid Society (YRCAS) is a non-profit community organization legally mandated to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect. As a leader within the child welfare sector, we partner with parents, caregivers, and community to provide a safe environment for children and youth, through equitable, culturally aligned services. Comprised of interdisciplinary teams of diverse professionals who push boundaries in support of family centered care, we engage with children and families for a stronger, healthier community within the York Region. To support us on our journey, YRCAS is looking for an IT Support Clerk to support our Corporate Services Department. (Please note that this is a Canada Summer Jobs funded position, specifically for eligible individuals looking to gain work experience during the summer months.)

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or have recently completed a post-secondary program in Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, Software Development, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or in a closely related field.
  • Be able to complete the full hours before August 28th, 2026.
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, respect, collaboration and discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to successfully complete multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing ASP.NET, SQL or other programming languages considered an asset.
  • Experience in the development of web applications an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, imaging and deploying new computers and smartphones, including installing necessary software, and creating and managing user profiles and accounts (e.g. Email, MsTeams, Microsoft 265, Adobe, etc.)
  • Providing general IT support to staff members, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network-related issues.
  • Setting up and configuring laptops, smartphones and other peripherals to ensure proper functionality and a positive user experience.
  • Providing support for small IT projects, such as cable management, device inventory, records updates, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
