About The Position

The Citadel Military College of South Carolina is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our Information Technology Services department. In this role, you will provide help desk support to faculty, staff, and students. The Citadel, also known as the Military College of South Carolina, is a public senior military college located in Charleston, South Carolina. Founded in 1842, The Citadel has a rich history and educational reputation. There are about 2,300 undergraduate students who make up the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. Out of the Corps of Cadets, 1 out of 3 graduates earn a military commission. Students can choose from 31 Majors, 57 Minors, pre-health professions, and pre-law (a concentration in political science). The 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio guarantees students a quality education. Another 1,000 students attend the Graduate College, evening and online programs.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or high school education with at least one year of technical experience in computer system support.
Proficiency in Windows and MS Office systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, independent, and proactive problem solver.

Responsibilities

Answer and track support calls using The Citadel's IT ticketing system.
Use remote access tools to troubleshoot software issues, remove malware and viruses, install software, assist with account issues, and provide general troubleshooting assistance.
Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly and effectively addressing user needs and resolving technical issues.
Identify and recognize recurring IT issues within The Citadel's community.
Collaborate with team members to actively resolve these issues and contribute to a more efficient IT environment.
