About The Position

The IT Quality Assurance Specialist will test financial application changes supporting Washington’s One Washington and Workday transition. The role focuses on identifying how application changes may fail and preventing errors that could disrupt financial transactions, reporting, and agency operations. The specialist works with developers and business analysts to translate requirements into test scenarios, examine results, document defects, and help determine when solutions are ready as requirements evolve in an Agile environment. During the first 90 days, the employee will learn the applications, business requirements, and testing tools; begin developing test cases and investigating results; and work with developers to resolve defects. Within the first year, success means application changes are thoroughly tested, requirements are met, and risks are identified before production. This is a one-year project position, with a possible extension dependent on additional funding. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the first three months, the employee must work at Office Building 2 at least two days each week. No additional travel is expected.

  • Have at least three years of hands-on testing experience with mid- to large-scale enterprise applications across the software testing life cycle, including test planning, design, data preparation, execution, defect tracking, regression testing, analysis, and reporting.
