About The Position

Smartleaf is hiring an IT & Productivity Engineer to make the technology experience better for non-engineering employees and take primary responsibility for internal IT and productivity. The role offers the opportunity to shape the function at a company of nearly 50 people, primarily software and systems engineers. The position requires a flexible 50%–75% in-office presence at Smartleaf’s Boston headquarters. The work is expected to be roughly 75% systems improvement and 25% support, though periods of near-full-time support may occur. The engineer will administer the productivity stack, including Google Workspace, Zoom, and other SaaS tools; manage vendor relationships from evaluation through renewal; improve onboarding and offboarding; oversee device provisioning and mobile device management; identify automation opportunities; and provide macOS and Linux desktop support and access management. The role may also assist the Operations team from time to time. Success during the first six months includes auditing tools, vendors, and access controls; documenting and prioritizing gaps; progressively handling more desktop support; documenting onboarding and offboarding workflows; completing MDM coverage; reviewing vendor contracts; launching self-service IT resources; automating at least two meaningful manual processes; and handling an onboarding peak without significant issues. Compensation is $100,000–$150,000, depending on relevant experience. Smartleaf cannot provide visa sponsorship; candidates must have current and ongoing U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.
