About The Position
The Product Management Specialist - Advanced contributes to shaping product direction by managing the backlog, gathering stakeholder input, and helping define the scope and value of work. The role partners closely with product leaders, subject matter experts, and architecture teams to ensure demand is aligned with business goals and technical standards. The Advanced Specialist balances competing priorities, makes informed recommendations, and influences product outcomes with increasing autonomy. The position builds and manages the delivery team's backlog, validates deliverables with stakeholders, and helps ensure features and user stories deliver expected business value and results. It works with system and solution architects, product managers, and project managers where applicable to clarify and prioritize work. The role also maintains advanced business acumen and process knowledge to represent and advocate for the product with business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage the delivery team's backlog and confirm deliverables with stakeholders.
- Ensure features and user stories deliver expected business value and results.
- Work with system and solution architects, product managers, and project managers where applicable to ensure features and user stories are understood and prioritized in the product backlog to support value delivery.
- Maintain a healthy backlog of product requests so delivery teams consistently focus on high-value work and maximize effectiveness and productivity.
- Understand customer needs, define the economic rationale and path to value, and continually validate value delivery and usage.
- Engage stakeholders to understand business-line strategy and objectives and triage new opportunities.
- Maintain advanced business acumen and process knowledge to represent and advocate for the product with business stakeholders.
