About The Position

Pearson is seeking an individual-contributor Product Manager to shape product direction for assigned areas within Pearson Professional Assessments, particularly exam authoring, item banking, test assembly, and publishing. The role translates customer, stakeholder, market, regulatory, and business needs into product vision, roadmap priorities, and actionable backlog decisions for agile delivery teams. The Product Manager leads discovery across author, reviewer, approver, psychometrician, and exam-builder workflows. They balance customer value, business outcomes, operational realities, technical feasibility, compliance expectations, and product viability while driving enhancements and new capabilities. The role also identifies opportunities to use generative AI and other emerging technologies responsibly, maintaining human review, governance, security, assessment integrity, and the quality and defensibility required for high-stakes assessment. The position calls for deep understanding of users, customers, engagement data, business constraints, industry trends, and the competitive landscape. The Product Manager works closely with design, engineering, data, and relevant stakeholders, using evidence and clear communication to influence colleagues and executives. Teams are empowered to determine solutions and are accountable for results, including measurable user outcomes.

  • Demonstrated success driving cross-functional alignment and marshaling resources across teams to deliver impactful outcomes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, make informed trade-offs, and escalate critical risks when appropriate.
  • Highly analytical and data-informed, with experience defining metrics, planning measurement, and using usage and performance signals to guide product direction and prioritization.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with multiple constraints and translate customer and business needs into documented requirements and functional solutions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear, non-technical language to diverse audiences.
  • Track record of shipping features that meet original requirements with minimal post-release corrections or escalations.
