About The Position

The IT Operations Specialist supports daily IT operations, system administration tasks, and foundational cybersecurity and compliance activities. Working under the guidance of senior IT and security staff, this role helps maintain company systems, supports end users, assists with monitoring security tools, and contributes to compliance efforts such as NIST, RMF, CMMC, and DISA STIGs. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Oklahoma City, OK.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • At least one IT certification (A+, Network+, Security+, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, networking concepts, and system administration fundamentals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and user applications.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Help maintain Active Directory accounts, password resets, group memberships, and basic Group Policy updates.
  • Support routine system maintenance tasks, including installing updates, patches, and approved software.
  • Assist with monitoring server and network health under senior staff direction.
  • Help with daily backup checks and basic backup/restore support.
  • Support inventory tracking, documentation, and configuration management activities.
  • Monitor dashboards from SIEM/XDR, antivirus, and other security tools; escalate alerts as needed.
  • Assist in incident response activities by gathering logs, documenting findings, and supporting senior analysts.
  • Help maintain firewalls, MFA platforms, encryption tools, and other security technologies.
  • Participate in vulnerability scanning activities and help track remediation progress.
  • Apply system-hardening steps following provided STIG/SRG checklists under supervision.
  • Assist with maintaining cybersecurity documentation, policies, and knowledge base content.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for NIST 800-series, CMMC, RMF, and other compliance requirements.
  • Help maintain RMF artifacts, STIG checklists, and configuration baselines.
  • Support periodic internal audits, security reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Assist in maintaining cybersecurity scorecards, POA&Ms, and report updates.
  • Support training initiatives, such as basic cybersecurity awareness for end users.
