About The Position

Toyon Research Corporation is seeking an intern to assist with the day-to-day information technology operations. The intern will join a dynamic and fast paced IT organization with a focus on excellence and diligence. The intern will follow established IT policies and procedures, working to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills and a desire to learn and excel.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and a strong interest in STEM
• Active enrollment in a college degree program
• Basic understanding of computer networks as well as Unix and Windows based operating systems and their corresponding software ecosystems
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• U.S. Citizenship Required.
• Ability to qualify for a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures to assemble, configure, and set up PC computers for new employees or system upgrades
• Install and configure software applications on PC computers, ensuring compatibility and adherence to organizational policies
• Perform thorough testing and verification of installed software to ensure proper functionality and troubleshoot any issues that arise
• Maintain accurate documentation of hardware configurations, software installations, inventory, and troubleshooting steps
• Assist with diagnosing and resolving network-related and printer problems as needed
• Organize inventory, verify inventory count, and reconcile inventory in our inventory management system
• Communicate with users to verify the assets in their possession, and communicate with IT team members in other offices to coordinate remote inventory verification
