About The Position

Housing Visions is a Syracuse based nonprofit committed to Quality, Responsibility, Integrity and Compassion. Our IT team plays a vital role in supporting staff who work every day to strengthen communities. As an intern, you will be part of a team that values growth and contributions. You will be based out of our corporate office located at 1201 E. Fayette St. Work schedule is Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm. The pay range is $17-$20 DOE.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and network principles.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of A/V equipment.
  • Experience with VOIP phone systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff across all offices.
  • Help maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and A/V equipment.
  • Assist with monitoring, maintenance, and upgrades of network infrastructure and software applications.
  • Create new user accounts and configure required permissions and access rights.
  • Assist with hardware and software installations and office equipment setups.
  • Help maintain the organization’s IT inventory records.
  • Support the VOIP phone system, door access, and building security systems.
  • Develop and deliver basic computer training materials and reference guides for staff.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to the organization’s IT needs.
