About The Position

PSEG is looking for a Summer 2026 IT Intern for the IT Utility Operations Technology team. This job involves working as an intern supporting the Asset Health Planning team responsible for maintaining asset health data in databases and data lake. The Intern will utilize a broad knowledge of information technology and engineering practices acquired through pervious coursework and on the job training. This position will be Hybrid Fixed.

Requirements

Actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or Information Technology and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029.
Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026.
Incumbents must have completed freshman level course work for consideration.
A valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.
Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

Nice To Haves

Maintain 3.0 GPA or above
Majoring in Engineering (Any Discipline), IT (Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in Python language and SQL.
Knowledge in AWS.
Experience with any of the following program, Microsoft Office, Visio.
PowerBI or data visualization tools.
Self-starter with the ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
Detail oriented and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing Python scripts for data processing, curation, and analysis.
Knowledge in AWS Lambda, Redshift and Athena.
Help support the team with AWS data buckets in S3.
Collaborate with the team to manage, query and analyze large datasets using SQL database.
Troubleshoot basic data issues and help maintain data quality.
Document processes and maintain project documentation.
