About The Position

RQ Construction is currently seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to join our Virginia office located in Virginia Beach. This position acts as the primary point of contact for technical assistance across the company, supporting employees in multiple offices and project locations. The role is focused on maintaining workforce productivity by troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues while ensuring compliance with company policies and DoD cybersecurity standards. Daily duties include managing support tickets, deploying and maintaining equipment, onboarding support of new employees, and supporting technology setup at office and field locations. You will collaborate with internal IT team members, project personnel, and external vendors to provide reliable and secure IT services across the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least three years of practical experience providing end-user support, including diagnosing hardware/software issues and managing IT devices in a professional environment
  • Must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft credentials are strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting users in construction, engineering, or design-related industries is a plus
