About The Position

SIXT is seeking an IT Field Technician I to support technology installation, configuration, and deployment across its North American branch network. The role helps open new locations and supports existing branches, working with IT teams to ensure equipment, connectivity, and systems are ready for business operations. It involves hands-on work, independent problem-solving in a fast-paced environment, and 40–50% nationwide travel.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in IT field services, desktop support, or a similar technical support role.
• Hands-on experience running, terminating, and testing Cat6 or Cat6A cabling and installing IT equipment.
• Experience configuring, imaging, and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 devices.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, VLANs, and Wi-Fi.
• Ability to read network diagrams, resolve technical issues independently, and provide on-site support in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate with internal teams and external contractors.
• Valid driver's license and flexibility to travel 40–50% nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure workstations, printers, kiosks, network equipment, and other technology at new and existing locations.
• Run, terminate, and test structured cabling, including Cat6 and Cat6A, and coordinate with contractors on site readiness.
• Prepare and deploy devices using standard imaging and provisioning processes.
• Test network connectivity, verify VLAN configurations, and troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 on-site technical support during branch openings and assist employees with hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
• Maintain installation documentation, equipment inventory, and go-live checklists, and coordinate with IT teams for ongoing branch support.
