About The Position

The IT Field Engineer provides on-site technical support at client locations, including offices, data centres, and remote sites. The role involves installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems; supporting end-users; documenting service activity; and coordinating with external vendors and contractors. The position requires effective communication, collaboration, independent work, and adaptability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Visit client locations to address technical issues.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components.
• Resolve network connectivity problems and set up and maintain printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
• Diagnose and repair hardware failures, replace faulty components, and perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning, updates, and backups.
• Assist users with software installations, updates, and patches; troubleshoot operating system and application issues; and provide guidance on software best practices.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, and firewalls; troubleshoot network connectivity; and monitor network performance and security.
• Maintain accurate records of service requests, resolutions, and equipment inventory.
• Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and recommendations.
• Communicate with end-users to understand their technical needs and provide timely solutions while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors, evaluate vendor performance, and manage relationships.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams.
