About The Position

The IT ERP Functional Analyst, Expert – SAP Ariba is a functional subject matter expert responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, integrating, enhancing, and supporting SAP Ariba solutions. The role focuses on Ariba Buying & Invoicing, Contract Management, Supplier Lifecycle and Performance, Supplier Risk Management, and Sourcing, working closely with SAP ERP applications supporting Supply Chain, Finance, and Work Management. The analyst translates complex business requirements into scalable solutions, promotes a Fit-to-Standard approach, and collaborates with business, functional, technical, architecture, and vendor teams to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions. The position is hybrid, working from a remote office and Oakland, California, one to three days per week, or more based on business needs or company requirements. The role is in Information Systems Technology Services, within the SAP solutions organization, which provides SAP IT services to Supply Chain, Finance, Work & Asset Management, and HR. The organization is responsible for strategic technology planning, roadmap development, solution design, delivery, and support. The salary range for the Bay Area is $128,000 to $218,000, with a midpoint of $173,000. The actual amount depends on factors including internal equity, skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location; the expected range is between the minimum and midpoint. The position is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a job-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Seven years of experience in Ariba module implementation.
Experience with IT project methodology.
Experience with SAP integrations.
Experience with data analysis.

Responsibilities

Serve as the SAP Ariba functional expert for complex initiatives, enhancements, integrations, and production support.
Analyze complex end-to-end business processes and identify opportunities to improve or simplify them using SAP Ariba and SAP standard capabilities.
Lead solution design and configuration across Ariba Buying & Invoicing, Contract Management, Supplier Lifecycle and Performance, Supplier Risk Management, Strategic Sourcing, and SAP ECC and S/4HANA integrations.
Translate business requirements into functional designs, system configurations, process flows, functional specifications, and test scenarios.
Independently analyze and design solutions for highly complex projects with minimal guidance.
Design and support integrations between Ariba and SAP ERP, including integrations with Supply Chain, Finance, and Work Management processes.
Lead functional activities throughout the solution lifecycle, including requirements, design, configuration, testing, UAT, deployment, stabilization, and production support.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, architecture teams, technical analysts, developers, vendors, and implementation partners to resolve production issues and deliver end-to-end solutions.
Evaluate solution alternatives and recommend effective approaches for complex business requirements.
Provide functional leadership in diagnosing and resolving complex application and integration issues.
Support continuous improvement of procurement, sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and invoicing processes.
Develop and maintain functional documentation, solution designs, process flows, test plans, test scripts, and support documentation.
Provide functional guidance and knowledge transfer to project teams, support organizations, and business users.
Support SOX internal and external audit requests as needed.
