IT Cloud Engineer
About The Position
Forrest T. Jones & Company, Inc. and its affiliates provide insurance and related services, including life and health insurance plans, financial services, and customized insurance products. The IT Cloud Engineer installs and maintains cloud-based IT applications, systems, and associated infrastructure; identifies and resolves system issues; and implements and monitors systems. The role also builds tools to automate repetitive tasks, reduce errors, and prevent downtime. The engineer works with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and maintains a hybrid cloud/on-premises environment until migration to the cloud is complete. The position provides Tier 3 operational support and creates system diagrams and documentation as needed. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, university program certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one IT industry certification, such as MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent.
- Three or more years of experience in an IT infrastructure role in an enterprise environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team-building and support skills.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS integrations and solutions.
- Maintain the cloud/on-premises hybrid environment until it is fully migrated to the cloud.
- Support compute infrastructure using Cisco UCS.
- Support networking using Cisco and Meraki.
- Support storage using Cisco Hyperflex and NetApp.
- Create system diagrams and documentation as needed.
- Provide Tier 3 operational support as needed.
- Find and fix system issues; implement and monitor systems.
- Build tools to automate repetitive tasks, minimize errors, and prevent downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
