About The Position

The IT Cloud Engineer administers AWS cloud infrastructure, supporting security, compliance, performance, resiliency, and business continuity. The role deploys product updates, supports application integrations and performance, monitors operational metrics, and investigates infrastructure, performance, and security issues. It also supports CI/CD implementations for applications on AWS and participates in an on-call rotation providing 24/7 production support.

This is a hybrid role based at BJ’s Club Support Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts. In-office days are Tuesday through Thursday, with remote work on Monday and Friday. The stated schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or foreign equivalent.
• Two years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a related role; experience may be gained concurrently.
• Two years of experience that includes AWS core services, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, Python, EC2, ALB, DynamoDB, Kafka, SQS, Lambda, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, and OpsRamp.
• Linux administration experience.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize multiple work streams across projects and business units.
• Administer AWS cloud infrastructure while aligning security, compliance, performance, and resiliency.
• Support security and compliance needs.
• Deploy product updates, identify production issues, and support integrations that meet business needs.
• Support business continuity planning and disaster recovery protocols for cloud-based systems.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure, performance, and security.
• Collaborate on and document best practices and strategies for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Support application performance, uptime, and scale while maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design.
• Understand, measure, and monitor availability and performance against operational metrics.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support to production environments.
• Implement and support CI/CD setups for applications on AWS.
• Manage AWS implementations across a broad range of AWS services.
