About The Position

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) Information Technology Services Division is hiring a senior Salesforce technical application, Azure integration, and data developer for its Salesforce team in Olympia, Washington. The position works under general direction and reports to the Salesforce Team Supervisor. The team defines business and technical needs and designs, develops, and maintains innovative, secure software solutions that meet IT industry standards. The role designs, develops, enhances, and maintains enterprise Salesforce applications and associated applications, databases, and integrations. These systems support licensing and compliance services, including education, audits, investigations, and public records, and provide data for decisions across the agency. The position works on highly visible systems with agency-wide, statewide, and multi-agency impact, integrating custom solutions with SaaS, COTS, and PaaS systems. The position provides technical leadership for development and administration, including application and data conversions, system upgrades, enhancements, architecture and solution roadmaps, and secure Salesforce and Azure solutions. It plans enterprise software architecture, designs application components and integrations, coordinates and documents enhancements and maintenance, and administers inter-system and inter-agency interactions. Database development duties include analyzing requirements; designing, developing, testing, normalizing, installing, and implementing databases and interfaces; and writing automated backup, replication, and ETL scripts. The position also leads development changes and coaches and mentors junior technicians. The role is expected to understand business needs in the context of state and federal rules and guidelines, recommend solutions, and contribute to strategic planning. When other IT professionals are unavailable during system changes, the position may work directly with stakeholders to document requirements and acceptance criteria, prepare test plans and cases, train users, coordinate user acceptance testing, administer PaaS features, and deploy changes. The position is currently eligible for telework but requires at least one day per week in the office; this may change based on business needs.
