About The Position

This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for landscaping and grounds. The role involves ensuring the efficient operation of watering systems to maintain the health and appearance of the district's grounds. This includes troubleshooting issues, performing preventative maintenance, and working with various irrigation components.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in irrigation system installation and repair.
Valid Nevada Driver's License.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
Knowledge of irrigation system components, including controllers, valves, and sprinkler heads.
Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools related to irrigation work.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, digging, and working in various weather conditions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Certification in irrigation system repair or installation.
Experience with computerized irrigation control systems.
Knowledge of water conservation techniques.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, including pipes, valves, sprinklers, and controllers.
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with irrigation systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance.
Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in irrigation system work.
Respond to irrigation-related service calls and emergencies.
Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and district policies.
Collaborate with other members of the landscaping and grounds department.
