About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and care of landscaping and grounds. This includes mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding, and general upkeep of outdoor areas. The Gardner I will operate and maintain landscaping equipment and ensure the aesthetic appeal and safety of the grounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
Knowledge of basic landscaping principles and practices.
Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment.
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Experience with irrigation systems.
Knowledge of plant identification and pest/disease management.
Certification in landscaping or related field.

Responsibilities

Perform routine landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, and trimming lawns and shrubs.
Plant, water, fertilize, and weed flower beds, trees, and other vegetation.
Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and edgers.
Rake leaves, remove snow, and perform other seasonal groundskeeping duties.
Ensure the cleanliness and safety of walkways, parking lots, and other outdoor areas.
Assist with irrigation system maintenance and repair.
Identify and report any plant diseases, pest infestations, or other issues to the supervisor.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines when operating equipment and performing duties.
