About The Position

Our client, a full-service investment bank with more than 125 years of history and a global platform spanning securities brokerage, trading, research, underwriting, and corporate advisory services, is seeking an Associate 2/3 to join their Investment Banking team, focused on Business Services / Transportation & Logistics within the Diversified Industrials & Services group. This role can sit in New York, Baltimore, or Chicago. This role suits a strategic thinker with a strong background in complex financial transactions and deep familiarity with the Business Services and Transportation & Logistics landscape — a self-starter ready to work hard in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects at once. Experience supporting sell-side M&A transactions is required. Key Focus Areas Clean Technology & Engineering: Supporting sustainable tech and engineering service providers Industrial Services & Logistics: Advising supply chain, transport, and support service companies Packaging & Manufacturing: Working with firms across paper, forest products, and general manufacturing Industrial Technology: Delivering research and deal execution for tech-enabled industrial applications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required (MBA a plus)
  • Investment banking experience with a Business Services and/or Transportation & Logistics M&A track record
  • FINRA licenses required: SIE, Series 79, Series 63
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Currently at the Associate 2 or Associate 3 level with a proven transaction execution track record
  • Business Services and/or Transportation & Logistics sector experience strongly preferred, with a demonstrated deal track record (strong preference for closed deals)
  • Client Skills: able to win clients' confidence, anticipate and deliver on their needs, and build strong, long-term relationships
  • Time Management: able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, manage expectations, and use firm resources efficiently
  • Teamwork: works well within project teams, respectful of all levels of seniority, willing to train and mentor others

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of M&A, recapitalizations, and capital raises (debt and equity) transactions within Business Services and Transportation & Logistics
  • Assist in managing client relationships and delivering financial solutions
  • Build and manage detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and presentations
  • Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and marketing materials
  • Support due diligence processes and coordinate with deal teams
  • Mentor and guide Analysts, providing feedback and training
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including pitch preparation and identifying new client opportunities across Business Services and Transportation & Logistics
  • Build sector expertise and represent the firm at industry events and client meetings
