About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are looking for an Inventory Control Supervisor to support material receipts, rail car and truck shipping by maintaining accurate inventory through the use of inventory control systems, associated documentation, personnel and time management. This leader will be responsible for supervising department area personnel in daily operations and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards and requirements for safety, sanitation, and productivity at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in manufacturing operations, business, logistics, or related field; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Two years’ experience in warehouse operations, inventory control and management, preferably in manufacturing environment; one-year supervisory experience, preferably in union environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures in a food processing manufacturing environment, including inventory control systems and associated software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; and inventory management software application.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, credit screen, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures inventory accuracy is maintained through daily cycle counting, investigation and root cause analysis of discrepancies and communicating the findings to appropriate parties.
  • Manages inventory adjustments to ensure appropriate processes are followed and documentation is maintained.
  • Coordinates mid-year and year-end physical inventory for finished goods and assists with Materials inventory.
  • Coordinates with Quality Control Department and Warehouse personnel to ensure product dispositioned for throwaway or reprocess is identified and removed from inventory in a timely manner and properly documented.
  • Runs FIFO inventory reports to ensure product rotation for shipping is followed and the correct pack year/day codes are shipped.
