About The Position

The Inventory Control Group Lead leads daily operations according to inventory control procedures. The role supports department performance and process improvement, helps ensure prompt and accurate handling of received and stocked material, and works with teams across plant operations to resolve issues involving schedules, equipment, documentation, and personnel. It also helps ensure inventory records and material supplied to production are accurate, while following company safety, health, and security procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring department performance and supporting optimal performance through existing procedures and suggestions for revisions or new procedures.
Help reduce processing time for received material and continually improve processing-time performance; recommend overtime or other recovery methods as needed.
Ensure tools, equipment, and visual aids needed for efficient and accurate work are in proper working order and reflect the latest revision.
Provide frequent, accurate feedback to Inventory Control and Quality departments and assist with problem solving related to schedules, equipment, documentation, and personnel.
Coordinate with departmental supervisors, support functions, engineering, program management, and other relevant plant operations functions.
Ensure accurate records for shipping, receiving, and stockroom documents.
Verify the age and accuracy of material in receiving and shipping locations.
Ensure production receives the correct parts for manufacturing.
Ensure material is stocked promptly and accurately.
Help eliminate errors that could affect department quality, budget, or efficiency performance.
Identify team members’ performance issues and strengths for Inventory Control supervisors.
Follow applicable safety and health rules and regulations, as directed by the supervisor.
Comply with company security procedures.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
