Inventory Control Group Lead

About The Position

Lead the daily operations of the inventory control group in accordance with established inventory control procedures. The role supports department performance and continuous improvement, oversees accurate and timely processing and stocking of materials, and helps ensure production receives the correct parts. It also involves maintaining accurate shipping, receiving, and stockroom records; monitoring material aging and accuracy; coordinating with internal departments and support functions; and supporting team performance, safety, and company security procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring department performance and ensuring optimal results; use existing procedures and recommend revisions or new procedures as needed.
Help reduce processing time for received materials and continually improve processing-time performance; recommend overtime or other recovery methods when necessary.
Ensure tools, equipment, and visual aids needed for efficient and accurate work are functioning properly and reflect the latest revision.
Provide frequent, accurate feedback to Inventory Control and Quality departments and assist with resolving issues involving schedules, equipment, documentation, and personnel.
Coordinate with departmental supervisors, support functions, engineering, program management, and other relevant plant operations functions.
Ensure accurate recordkeeping for shipping, receiving, and stockroom documents.
Verify the aging and accuracy of materials in receiving and shipping locations.
Ensure production lines receive the correct parts for manufacturing.
Ensure materials are stocked promptly and accurately.
Eliminate errors that could affect department quality, budget, or efficiency performance.
Identify team members’ performance issues and strengths and communicate them to Inventory Control supervisors.
Follow applicable safety and health rules and regulations, as directed by the supervisor.
Follow all procedures in the company security policy.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
