Inventory Associate - Full Time
About The Position
As an Inventory Associate at CarMax, you help ensure customers have a seamless experience by tracking and preparing vehicle inventory and positioning vehicles for customer access and viewing. The role provides hands-on experience in the auto industry and an opportunity to learn CarMax’s business in a fast-paced environment. The position involves recording vehicle deliveries and inventory, moving vehicles around the lot, maintaining a clean work area, and performing vehicle cleaning and detailing tasks. Associates work collaboratively and follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
Requirements
- High level of motivation and attention to detail in a dynamic work environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to changing environments.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Comfort working outdoors, including in noisy or inclement weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Accurately log and track vehicle deliveries and inventory to maintain operational efficiency.
- Move and position vehicles across the lot to ensure easy customer access and viewing.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
- Perform vehicle reconditioning tasks, including cleaning, vacuuming, and detailing.
- Collaborate with the team to learn best practices for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Benefits
- Paid sick time: up to 48 hours per year, accrued per pay period, for eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates.
- Paid vacation time: between 80 and 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, based on years of continuous service, for eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates.
- Paid scheduled holidays: 8 hours of pay for each of 6 scheduled holidays per year, plus 1 floating holiday, for eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates.
- Holiday Premium Pay may be available to eligible associates who work on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
- Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
