About The Position

The Inventory Associate supports CarMax’s vehicle inventory and customer experience by accurately tracking vehicle deliveries and inventory, moving vehicles around the lot, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. The role also performs vehicle reconditioning, including cleaning, vacuuming, and detailing, and works with a team to learn practices that support exceptional customer experiences. Associates must follow Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and maintain an orderly work area.

The position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, including noisy or inclement conditions, and may require evening and weekend availability. It is a part-time role at the Schaumburg, Illinois location.

Requirements

• High motivation and attention to detail in a dynamic work environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to changing environments.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Comfort working outdoors, including in noisy or inclement weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Accurately log and track vehicle deliveries and inventory.
• Move and position vehicles across the lot for customer access and viewing.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
• Clean, vacuum, and detail vehicles to meet customer expectations.
• Collaborate with the team to learn practices for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

Benefits

• Part-time associates may be eligible for sick time where required by state law; accrual varies by state.
• Part-time associates are eligible for 8 to 40 hours of vacation per year based on length of service, subject to a one-year waiting period.
• Part-time associates are eligible for 4 hours of Floating Holiday Time each calendar year, subject to manager approval.
