About The Position

As an Inventory Associate at CarMax, you help provide customers with a seamless experience by accurately tracking vehicle inventory, moving vehicles around the lot, and maintaining an orderly, welcoming environment. The role offers hands-on experience in the auto industry and opportunities to learn CarMax’s business and develop skills for long-term career growth. You will work with a team to prepare vehicles to meet customer expectations while following Environmental, Health and Safety requirements. The position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Accurately log and track vehicle deliveries and inventory to maintain operational efficiency.
• Move and position vehicles across the lot to ensure easy customer access and viewing.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming environment that reflects CarMax’s commitment to excellence.
• Perform vehicle reconditioning tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, and detailing to meet customer expectations.
• Collaborate with a team to learn best practices for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Benefits

• Paid sick time: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates can earn up to 48 hours per year, accrued each pay period.
• Paid vacation: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates receive 80 to 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• Paid holidays: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates receive 8 hours of pay for each of six scheduled holidays per year, plus one floating holiday.
• Holiday premium pay when eligible associates work on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed for sick leave, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
