About The Position

The Inventory Associate helps ensure a seamless customer experience by accurately tracking vehicle inventory, moving vehicles around the lot, maintaining the work area, and reconditioning vehicles. The role provides hands-on experience in the auto industry and an opportunity to learn CarMax’s business in a fast-paced environment while working with a team to deliver vehicles that meet quality and reliability standards.

The position is based at CarMax’s Nashville location. It requires outdoor work in all weather conditions, including potentially noisy or inclement conditions, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• High level of motivation and attention to detail in a dynamic work environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to changing environments.
• Comfort working in outdoor settings, including noisy or inclement weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Accurately log and track vehicle deliveries and inventory to maintain operational efficiency.
• Move and position vehicles across the lot to ensure easy customer access and viewing.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming environment and a clean, orderly work area.
• Perform vehicle reconditioning tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, and detailing.
• Collaborate with the team to learn best practices for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements.

Benefits

• Paid sick time: eligible associates can earn up to 48 hours per year, accrued per pay period.
• Paid vacation: eligible associates receive between 80 and 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• Six paid scheduled holidays per year, with eight hours of pay for each, plus one floating holiday.
• Holiday Premium Pay may be available when an associate works on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
