About The Position

As an Inventory Associate at CarMax, you help provide customers with a seamless experience by ensuring vehicle inventory is accurately tracked, well-presented, and ready for viewing. The role offers hands-on experience in the auto industry and opportunities to learn CarMax’s business and develop skills for future growth. The work takes place in a fast-paced environment and includes moving vehicles, maintaining the lot, and performing vehicle cleaning and detailing. Associates must follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to changing environments.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Comfort working outdoors, including in noisy or inclement weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Accurately log and track vehicle deliveries and inventory to maintain operational efficiency.
• Move and position vehicles across the lot so customers can access and view them easily.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
• Clean, vacuum, and detail vehicles to meet customer expectations.
• Collaborate with the team to learn and apply best practices for customer experiences.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and keep the work area clean and orderly.

Benefits

• Paid sick time: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates can accrue up to 48 hours per year.
• Paid vacation time: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates receive 80 to 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• Paid scheduled holidays: eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive associates receive 8 hours of pay for each of six scheduled holidays per year, plus one floating holiday.
• Holiday Premium Pay for eligible associates who work a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
