About The Position

Tredegar Surface Protection has an exciting opportunity for an Inventory and Logistics Manager to join our Team at our Pottsville, PA manufacturing site! This role is responsible for site materials management, inventory, logistics and purchasing functions and personnel. The manager will maintain strong relationships with customer and third-party logistics groups, implement and promote divisional supply chain policies, procedures and overall strategy. They will identify plant level process and cost improvement projects that contribute to the achievement of plant and regional improvement goals and perform other duties as required to satisfy customer needs and assist with proactively finding & implementing solutions to meet business units KPI’s.

Requirements

  • 5 - 8 years’ relevant experience in a related area
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
  • Manufacturing plant experience required
  • Proficiency in JDE or similar system required
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook required
  • Experience managing others strongly preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a focus of safety, quality and continuous improvement across all areas of the department.
  • Oversee the inventory management process of daily cycle counts, year-end physical inventory, posting, tolerances, variances, inventory turns and investigate significant variances using root cause analysis (RCA) tools. Develop corrective action preventative action plans (CAPA's). Manage and continuously improve materials cycle count process.
  • Ensure timely and proper response and resolution to any customer logistic issues or complaints.
  • Lead Logistics team job performance by regularly providing coaching, counseling, and feedback.
  • Develop/manage department budget and expenditures to meet plant goals and targets.
  • Routinely assess, improve, develop, modify, implement and enforce process, policies and procedures for the global materials and logistics function.
  • Proactively interface with outside vendors and suppliers, customer service, procurement, sales, marketing, operations, finance, business systems and technology to ensure internal and external customer needs are met. Develop and institute process improvements, in and across all areas, including change management, documentation and training.
  • Manage facility purchase order processes utilizing JDE system. Expedite and follow up on purchase order due dates and deliveries including Railcar/Silo management as well as implement solutions for non-inventory items. (Kanban, Min/Max, Consignment).
  • Collaborate with management to plan forecasting models and maintain effective KPIs that will drive key functions such as warehouse management improvements, efficient material movement, quality and right size inventory levels.
