About The Position
This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the course "Introduction to Computer Science II" (ITI1521, Section B) during the 2027 Winter Semester in the Faculty of Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The course covers object-oriented programming, principles of abstraction (masking and encapsulation), linked lists, stacks, queues, binary search trees, iterative and recursive processing of data structures, and virtual machines. The course is taught in French and will be delivered in person. The expected enrollment is 100 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025), which does not include vacation or statutory pay. These rates are applicable until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification.
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of the course content, demonstrated by teaching similar courses or relevant employment experience.
- Regular applicants must have obtained a doctorate in a relevant field.
- For specialized courses, a doctorate or relevant work experience after obtaining a doctorate is particularly important.
