About The Position

This posting is for a Student Part-Time Professor position for the course TSO 4525: Dimensions internationales du travail social during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course explores social work in Northern and Southern countries, the impact of global events and human migration on social work practice, and the political, legal, and social contexts of assisting migrants and refugees worldwide and in Canada. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025), excluding vacation and statutory pay. These rates are applicable until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactive pay provided after ratification. Requirements

  • Master's degree or doctorate in social work or a related discipline.
  • Experience in university teaching is an asset.
  • Experience in research and/or intervention on migratory phenomena in Canada and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course TSO 4525: Dimensions internationales du travail social.
  • Deliver instruction during scheduled class times: Monday 11:30-13:00 and Thursday 13:00-14:30.
  • Engage students in learning about international social work, global events, human migration, and the contexts of assisting migrants and refugees.
  • Potentially conduct research and/or intervention on migratory phenomena in Canada and internationally, as indicated by requirements.
