About The Position

United Health Services Hospitals is seeking an Attending Interventional Spine Physician to join their UHS Spine Care & Pain Relief practice. This role supports growth and succession planning in non-operative spine care. The practice serves a strong regional referral base and has an established primary care network. The team currently consists of two interventional spine physicians, five advanced practice providers, one clinical psychologist, and one social worker, handling over 4,000 interventional procedures and 24,000 clinic visits annually. The physician will perform a full spectrum of non-operative/interventional spine care procedures, including fluoroscopy-guided spine injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, and other advanced interventional techniques. Procedures are conducted in a hospital-sponsored, four-OR ambulatory surgery center adjacent to the clinic, ensuring efficiency and an excellent patient experience. The practice is supported by a multidisciplinary team, including Physical Therapy specialists, five neurosurgeons, and a chiropractic team, fostering a collaborative approach to spine care. The position is primarily based in Binghamton, NY, with outreach clinics in Norwich and Walton. Opportunities for teaching residents and medical students from SUNY Upstate Medical University and participating in clinical research are available.

Requirements

  • Board-certified/board-eligible physician
  • Residency training in Anesthesia
  • Fellowship training in Pain Medicine

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of non-operative/interventional spine care procedures, including fluoroscopy-guided spine injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, and other advanced interventional techniques.
  • Provide patient care within the UHS Spine Care & Pain Relief practice.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Physical Therapy specialists, neurosurgeons, and chiropractors.
  • Potentially teach residents and medical students from SUNY Upstate Medical University.
  • Potentially participate in clinical research.
