Interventional Cardiologist
About The Position
A locum tenens Interventional Cardiologist is needed for inpatient, call-only coverage in Paducah, Kentucky. Coverage is supplemental and scheduled for 3–7 days per month, with a 7 a.m. to 7 a.m. call schedule. The physician will care for adult patients, respond to all cardiology calls for the hospital, provide general cardiology consultations as needed, and perform and interpret interventional and diagnostic cardiology procedures and tests. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered. Hospital privileges are required. Coverage dates are November 23–26, 2026; December 1–4, 2026; and December 29, 2026–January 1, 2027. The physician will work with a group that includes two interventional cardiologists, with other interventional cardiologists available for specialty backup. The facility uses Epic Cupid.
Requirements
- Board certified (BC).
- Hold a Kentucky license or an IMLC license.
- Have an active DEA registration.
- Hold ACLS certification.
- Obtain hospital privileges.
Responsibilities
- Perform balloon angioplasties, coronary angioplasty, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), heart catheterization, and coronary angiograms.
- Respond to all cardiology calls for the hospital.
- Provide general cardiology consultations as needed.
- Read and interpret EKGs, ECHOs, and stress tests, including nuclear stress tests.
