About The Position

Ellis Medicine is seeking an Interventional Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular team in Schenectady, New York. This is an excellent opportunity for an Interventional Cardiologist who is looking to join an established health system and provide comprehensive, high-quality cardiovascular care to patients throughout the Capital Region. The ideal candidate is a board-certified or board-eligible Interventional Cardiologist who is committed to patient-centered care and enjoys working collaboratively with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, primary care physicians, and other specialists.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology
  • Licensed (or eligible) to practice in New York State
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation and management of patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, with an emphasis on coronary and interventional care, including: Coronary artery disease, Acute coronary syndromes, Complex coronary artery disease, Heart failure and ischemic cardiomyopathy, Valvular heart disease, Peripheral vascular disease, as applicable, Other general and complex cardiovascular conditions.
  • Perform diagnostic cardiac catheterization, Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), Coronary angiography, Complex coronary interventions, Management of patients with acute coronary syndromes, Participation in STEMI and other acute cardiac care services, as applicable, Collaboration with non-invasive cardiology and electrophysiology, Other interventional procedures based on training and clinical expertise.
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology consultations and follow-up care.
  • Provide inpatient cardiology consultation and management.
  • Collaborate with referring physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Participate in shared cardiology call responsibilities.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
