The International Pharmacy Intern role is for a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate who has passed the FPGEE and TOEFL and is eligible to apply to complete required US pharmacy internship hours. The intern completes a mixed-modality learning plan and curated learning experience to build on their pharmacy education and develop knowledge and skills in patient care, practice management, leadership, and education. The internship must be completed within 18 months. The intern is expected to complete and pass all required pharmacist licensure exams and processes within 120 days after completing the required US internship hours. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the intern helps maintain a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment and deliver patient care. Work includes customer service, pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, inventory and workflow management, quality assurance, and support for patient care programs. The role excludes final prescription verification. Duties and permitted services are subject to applicable law, state regulations, certification, and direction from pharmacy leadership. The role also supports pharmacy leadership and staff development, helps identify opportunities to improve pharmacy performance, and contributes to a collaborative, caring team culture. The position requires an active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located. The colleague must obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days of completing US intern hours; failure to complete the internship within 18 months or obtain licensure as prescribed results in removal from the role and separation of employment.
