About The Position

The International Pharmacy Intern role is for a foreign pharmacy graduate from a non-US-accredited school who has successfully passed the FPGEE and TOEFL and is eligible to complete required US internship hours. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the intern contributes to a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment and provides patient care while developing knowledge and skills in patient care, practice management, leadership, and education. The mixed-modality learning plan builds on the intern’s pharmacy education. Interns must complete the required internship within 18 months and are expected to complete and pass required pharmacist licensure exams and processes within 120 days after completing the US internship hours. The role includes customer service, prescription processing and other pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, inventory and workflow management, and support for patient care programs. The intern supports pharmacy leadership and pharmacy support staff, participates in training and store operations, and performs duties under pharmacist supervision. Final prescription verification is excluded from workflow responsibilities. Failure to complete internship hours within 18 months or obtain pharmacist licensure within the prescribed period results in removal from the role and separation of employment.
