About The Position

Allen Lund Company is seeking a Drayage Logistics Specialist to source trucks and dispatch drayage/full-container pickups from railyards, ports, and terminals. The role helps ensure timely cargo delivery by managing drayage operations, tracking shipments, maintaining documents, preparing quotes, selecting transportation methods, and building relationships with customers and logistics partners. The specialist works independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in freight forwarding or drayage dispatching.
• Strong organization and prioritization skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
• Previous experience within a freight forwarding or drayage import organization.
• Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems, and objectives.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with other ground trucking services, such as LTL, cartage, FTL, or rail.

Responsibilities

• Manage drayage truckers and locate new truckers when needed.
• Receive and update shipment status promptly and issue shipment alerts when needed.
• Track and trace shipments, including port availability and delivery status.
• Collect and maintain load documents, including POD, EIR, and DO.
• Assist with managing shipments to ensure timely delivery of cargo to customers.
• Obtain and create shipment quotes and source the best transportation method.
• Build relationships with customers, other ALC offices, overseas agents, and service providers.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
