Summary of Expectations · Prepare and review shipping documents, ensuring accurate classification of goods, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of trade agreements and tariffs · Monitor shipments, resolve issues related to customs clearance, and ensure that all import and export activities are conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner, and in accordance with company policies and government regulations · Gather and analyze logistics data to assess and report on multiple steps of the shipment process · Create and maintain databases and/or spreadsheets with logistics data for reporting and compliance · Responsible for the development and implementation of logistics KPI’s and provide recommendations to the team for improvements and enhancements to processes · Develop, implement and maintain a customs compliance program · Responsible for the freight bill payment process, coding and auditing of shipments, to ensure accurate and timely vendor payments · Oversee the carrier freight claim process to ensure timely submission and completion of all claims · Prioritize and plan shipments with reference to production schedules, production management, customer service, various departments and colleagues to meet agreed upon customer ship dates · Process sales orders, dispatch and shipping documentation via ERP system and other associated software, carrier specific systems, and manually generated documents, as required · Timely communication regarding shipment issues such as shortages, overages, or damaged goods for resolution · Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, procurement, and customer experience teams to align logistics and inventory management strategies to meet business goals. · Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or control standards · Provide regular updates to senior leadership on logistics performance, and any challenges impacting the supply chain · Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure inventory aligns with market demand and customer requirements. · Identify and resolve supply chain bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or issues in coordination with other departments. · Continuously assess and improve logistics and operational processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, standardization pack-outs, and improve service levels. · Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics and inventory management in compliance with industry and Company standards. · Maintain accurate records of shipments and distribution activities for audit and regulatory purposes. Includes all import and export documentation and related communications for a minimum of 5 years. · Ensure shipment status report and resolution of outbound shipments. Work cross function with sourcing on inbound shipments for appropriate planning.
