About The Position

The Import/Export Specialist at Dynapower will be responsible for the administration of the internal customs inventory control system. This role involves being a key participant in computing duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise exported/imported to/from foreign destinations. The specialist will collaborate on examining invoices and shipping documents to ensure accordance with federal regulations and will be involved in the discharge process for materials, components, machinery, and equipment temporarily imported. Additionally, the role requires reviewing, auditing, and correcting information in the master catalog to maintain accuracy and organizing/validating local classifications of parts and materials.

Requirements

  • A university degree (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Eligibility to obtain authorization under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Non-US Persons, as defined in the ITAR and EAR, may not be eligible to obtain authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years’ experience in import/export compliance at a manufacturing company preferred.
  • Experience projecting and optimizing merchandize duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, etc. a plus.
  • Experience in ITAR environments also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of the internal customs inventory control system.
  • Computing duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise exported/imported to/from foreign destinations.
  • Examining invoices and shipping documents to ensure accordance with federal regulations.
  • Discharge process for materials and components temporarily imported into through the inventory control system bimonthly.
  • Discharges process for machinery and equipment imported temporary through the customs inventory control system.
  • Review, audit and perform appropriate corrections to information contained in the master catalog to keep information accurate and correct at all times.
  • Organize and validate local classifications of parts and materials to reconcile with local broker information.
