Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree
  • Arabic discipline
  • Arabic or comparative literary and cultural studies specialization
  • PhD
  • Native or near-native Arabic language competency
  • Knowledge of media technology
  • Valid pedagogical experience in second language teaching
  • Up to date with current scholarship on broad Arabic literary traditions, including storytelling, narrative form, and their cultural and historical contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course AB295A: Arabian Nights: Arabic Tales and Culture.
  • Conduct individual interviews with chosen candidates (as per Hiring Committee discretion).
  • Assess applications based on the Candidate Application Form (CAF), Curriculum Vitae, and any specifically referenced pages in supplemental documents.
  • Ensure fair assessment of each candidate according to the "Appendix H: Assessment of CTF Candidates under 13.6.1" and program-specific rubric.
